Brett Smyth has been promoted to Managing Director of EMEA and APAC for IDEAL Electrical. In addition to his current responsibilities, he will now also oversee IDEAL  Electrical Australia and Asia.  

Starting in January 2019, and in spite of pandemic supply chain issues, Brett and his team elevated  the business substantially across  the Middle East, United Kingdom and Europe.

Prior to joining the IDEAL family, Brett began his career with United Technologies Corporation. He also held global roles with Ernst and Young, Unilever and Tyco.  

Brett holds a BA Honours degree in Finance from the University of Manchester and is a qualified accountant. He also holds a Master’s  in Management from Cranfield University, and an MBA from the University of Manchester.  

Outside of work, Brett enjoys spending his time with his two children and wife Melissa; playing golf or watching Manchester United football.
