SYCAMORE, ILL. –IDEAL Electrical, known for its premium wire connectors and electrical tools/supplies, is ready for the next wave of smart home and connected technology demands. The smart home control and connectivity market
is expected to grow 11.11% annually through 2028.
To meet this growing market, IDEAL launches three new data/video testers.
Knowing the demand for smart home projects is rising, but consumers are price-conscious, IDEAL launches a new RJ45 Data Wiremapper product (SKU 33-855), Tone & Probe (SKU 62-144) and Coax Mapper (SKU 62-201), which will simplify data and video testing and be sold at an affordable price point that makes sense for low voltage installers, professional electricians and even DIYers who need to conduct complicated tests and troubleshooting of data and video installations.
“We’re confident these new testers will meet the needs of those installing, verifying, and troubleshooting data and video systems,” IDEAL Electrical General Manager Carmen Cardillo noted. “We know what electricians and low-voltage installers need in a tester better than anyone – because electrical is all that we do. We’re 100% committed to making sure we know what the market needs and that we make the best electrical products available.”

The IDEAL Electrical™ Wiremapper verifies correct wiring of low voltage and data communication cables. The wiremap test visually shows, pin-by-pin, whether RJ45 connectors are terminated correctly at both ends and if there is continuity from end to end.
The IDEAL Electrical™ Tone and Probe Kit for data cable allows for tracing de-energized low-voltage and data cable using an audible tone to detect and determine where the cable is located. This allows the technician to locate data cable without having to unplug systems or conduct time-consuming tests.
The IDEAL Electrical™ Coax Mapper verifies and maps coaxial cable in an easy-to-use device. With four color-coded remotes, the device can test and map up to four F-connector coax cables and uses LED’s to display PASS, OPEN, or SHORT. It can also identify the cable/remote location
“We’ve been a leader in the datacom space for over 30 years – and these new products are simply an evolution of us listening to the market and responding with products that we know are needed,” recounts Global Market Segment Manager Jeff Meader. “With smart homes, home security systems, and other low voltage installations increasing in popularity, we set out to make new data testers that are easy-to-use – whether they’re being used by a professional electrician, expert low-voltage technician or a home DIYer installing their own data and video systems.”
