Coax Mapper with 4 Remotes
Product Description
- Identify where coax cables begin and end in an installation
- Four color-coded remote terminators for mapping multiple coax locations
- F-type interface on main unit and remotes
- Includes (1) F-81 barrel adapter for attaching a remote to a terminated male F connector
- Identifies opens in a coaxial cable line (cut coax, unterminated ends, or loose connectors)
- Identifies shorts in coaxial cable line (shielding contacting conductor pin)
The 62-201 Coax Mapper Tester is used to verify the start and end point of a coaxial cable run. Designed for use on coax cables or wall plates terminated with F-type connectors, the tester can help homeowners, contractors, or maintenance professionals identify which coax lines go to which rooms and wall outlets in a residence or other building. Often used in applications involving splitters and taps, it simplifies finding the endpoint of a coax line when it is behind walls or travels through multiple floors of a building. The tester can also be used to verify coax patch cables have continuity and are free of termination and installation errors such as opens and shorts.
Kit includes four color-coded remote terminators and one F-81 adapter that are stored on the back of the main test unit when not in use. These can be placed on wallplate outlets or terminated cable ends (may require additional F-81 adapters for terminated cables) that are suspected of being the other end of the cable. The main test unit attaches to the other end of the de-energized coax cable in question. When the test button is pressed, the PASS LED for the found colored remote will light up on the main test unit. Repeat this process until all cables and outlet locations have been mapped and identified.
2 AAA 1.5V batteries are included
